Ryan KiscadenExecutive Director
Ryan Kiscaden is an expert in Integrated Marketing, with a focus in sustainable business practices for Fortune 100 companies. He is the executive director of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania-based Thermostat Recycling Corp. (TRC), a nonprofit stewardship organization that facilitates and manages the collection and proper disposal of mercury containing thermostats. TRC maintains a network of more than 3,600 collection sites nationwide and has recovered more than 2.4 million thermostats, containing 11 tons of mercury, since its inception.
Ryan is regarded as one of the top experts on the recycling of mercury containing thermostats in the United States. Under his direction, Ryan signed the first non-mercury thermostat manufacturers (Nest and ecobee) to membership. Ryan increased operational efficiencies in rebate processing, collection data integration, and reporting and switched processing facilities to Veolia in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He expanded the program’s collection container choice to a small pail in addition to green containers and also trademarked the TRC logo.
Ryan served as national accounts manager at TRC for two years before being promoted to the executive director’s position.
Before joining TRC, Ryan was the Business Development Manager at APR Supply Co., where he oversaw the business development group and all marketing and communications functions. In this role, he increased sales in his department by an average of 21 percent while reducing costs 5 percent.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, in business administration and an MBA from Elizabethtown College. He also earned a certificate in association management from the American Society of Association Executives. Ryan also serves on the Controls Council of HARDI, the leading trade association of wholesalers in the HVACR industry.
Ryan volunteers his time as a SCORE Mentor (counselors to America’s small business) and is an elected Republican Committee Member for Upper Dublin Township, Pennsylvania.
He lives in Dresher, Pennsylvania with his wife, Ana and their son, Joseph.
