A Great Year for Collection GrowthPosted May 20, 2015
In 2012 TRC created the Mercury Recovery Index (MRI). The index compares the amount of mercury recovered each year in percentage terms as compared to an index base year, which in most cases has been set at 2007 to match the base year used in many economic indicators. The base year’s index value is set to equal 100, and the data series is normalized to illustrate change relative to that base year value.
The recently published 2014 MRI report showed a 13% increase in total U.S. collections, and 64% of states increased their MRI compared to 2013. The average national increase was 57%. And the West was the region with the highest average increase at 73%!
